Several classes have been reading Yuko-Chan and the Daruma Doll by Sunny Seki. Last summer when our exchange student came, she brought us each a daruma doll. The story is bilingual and tells of these dolls that are from Japan. Daruma dolls are often bought at the beginning of the year for good luck. Our exchange student recently went to Takasaki, the city where the story takes place, and she sent some pictures from her visit.

what I think about diverced books, I think there should be more than "white" main characters in books because it makes some kids feel like they don't get the same respect like others do.
