Why read over summer break?
If you don’t read during the summer, you will be three months behind your classmates that read over summer. We also read during the summer for the fun of it.
Make summer reading plans - Some books we plan to read are:
Bomb, A book about the atomic bomb
Diary of a Wimpy kid: The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney
Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce
The Lost Hero series by Rick Riordan
Poke'mon diamond and pearl series
Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech
The heros of olympus series by Rick Riordan
Lego & Halo books
V.V. wants to read "I am Malala because I want to learn how she helped women's rights."
S.M. says, "One book I want to read over the summer is How to Catch a Bogle because it looked really interesting and in school my class, Mr Lichty's class, got to watch the book trailer to it and the book was scary at first but then it looked very good and then boom it was over. I would recommend you reading this book."
Where can you get books in the summer you ask?
If you can’t find books you could clean your room to try and find some. If you still don’t have any, you go to a friends house and ask them for a book. You could go to a bookstore. You could also go to a public library to check out some books. Another place is your school's Little Free Library. If you want to explore, you can also go to the Little Free Library (LFL) website and find other LFL locations to visit.
Where can you talk about books and get ideas about what to read?
