Characters can change us. They show readers how it feels to be in all kinds of different situations. We can travel all over the world with characters and even into other worlds. We learn about ourselves when we experience new things through characters.

I remember one from the book The Underneath. His name is Gar and he is seriously creepy. He is mean and I would never want to meet him or anyone like him if I could help it. He hurts small animals and hates just about everybody.
